Royal national life boat boat what legal powers do there have ie life guards on beaches?

The RNLI is a voluntary rescue organisation and a UK based charity. The lifeguards on the beaches have no legal powers but they generally know the local beaches well particularly things like rip tides so it is probably best to follow their advice.
