What is the royal Caribbean cruise like?

I'm going on a cruise to the Bahamas on the Royal Caribbean Monarch of the Sea. My 12 year old and his 14 year old friend are going, too. Will they have enough to do to keep them entertained? Is the ship too old fashioned?
