I’m a 22 year old woman, and I’ve been through a lot. Just a few months ago I underwent a four month long treatment for a debilitating health condition called vaginismus, I moved back with my verbally abusive parents because I couldn’t afford a place to live while finishing college, and I was dumped by a guy I liked for a year and a half and lost my virginity to. After graduating college in December, I found a job as a preschool teacher, but then was fired two months later. Psychotherapy and Zoloft do help, but not a great deal. I’ve developed a raging addiction to coffee. I cannot start the day without drinking a few cups, and I drink it at night too, just so I can stay up as late as possible to put off the nightmares I have about my past. I also take it before I shower, clean my room, or study for GREs/apply to grad schools—basically before I do anything, otherwise I just don’t have the energy to do it. I cannot even drive anywhere without having coffee first. I just don’t function without it and I don't know what to do :( I'll have no money at all if I keep spending money on coffee like this :( I also can never eat because all the coffee just kills my appetite. My depression and anxiety aren't getting any better either :(

Can I use fondant icing with the bag and tips?

I am doing a cake dummy for 4-H and it's due next week. Can or will the fondant go in the icing bags and through the tips. High CPK followed by Normal - Lots of Chronic Pain... Thoughts?

Lots of inconsistent muscle and joint pain body wide over the past 3 years accompanied with headaches. Some muscle spasms and twitching. Had a high CPK test of 6944 followed by a normal CPK test of 218. Doctor thinks the first lab might have been a bad lab because I am young and fit. That said, pain and fatigue has been debilitating, but I am just not lazy and do a good job of masking it. What should I do?

I received a phone call from a lady named Dallas from America West Notification Dept today. She said that last year a family member had filled out a form and we were chosen and won a cruise for 2 on Royal Carribean or Carnival Cruise line of our choice. I mean is there like signs someone can tell that there root canal is performed wrong or poorly like pain afterwards, a long time to finish one root canal like more than three dentalk visits and still not finished, cracked messed up tooth. i seriously suggest you buy a used saddle from someone near you, like off craigslist. i know this sounds dumb but trust me you will get a much much better quality saddle then these for around the same price. and breaking in a new saddle isnt much fun. its stiff and squeaky and you have to retighten your cinch a lot because the new fleece on the underside of the saddle gradually gets flattened down. hope i could help :)

Any stretches/exercises I could try before going to the doctors for a possible hernia?

I'm a young guy (21) and in better than average shape. I train for marathons, eat healthy, do mild weight lifting, and generally stay in shape. Today I was playing soccer with a bunch of friends and I moved quickly one direction and felt like I pulled a groin muscle but when I tried to stretch it I couldn't seem to fix the issue. Now its a good 7 hrs later and my lower right abdomen hurts when I press on it and when I lay on my back. It hurts down into my scrotum a bit too but mostly just above it on my abdomen. I checked everything out and I don't have any bumps or anything like it's a hernia but the location and type of pain match all the descriptions of a inguinal hernia that I have seen. I'm a busy guy and frankly think some doctors in my area are worthless and prefer to self medicate if possible. Does this sound like a hernia even though I'm in good shape? If it isn't a hernia what else might it be? What are some stretches or home remedies I could try for a few days to see if it improves? Also, if I end up having a hernia is surgery going to permanently debilitate me from being a highly active athlete for the rest of my life? I usually don't use yahoo answers for this type of stuff but my other research failed me so, I'd greatly appreciate any advice people are willing to give. Thanks!

Why does my TV only get a few channels?

Frequent painful cramps in 2nd trimester?

I'm 15 weeks 5 days pregnant with baby #2. I got a few cramps early on and my doc said it was my uterus stretching. They stopped for awhile, but now i get them when i go up and down the stairs, lift something with difficulty, or do much physical work at all. My son is 24 lbs, and i get cramps when i pick him up. Sometimes i get cramps for no reason at all. They're almost debilitating, and i have to sit still and groan until they go away. There is no bleeding, but i still don't feel that it's normal. I have my next pre-natal appointment tomorrow, so i will ask then. But in the meantime, has anyone else had this? Is this something to worry about? I missed my vitamins for awhile, but have started taking them again. Help? Thank you.

Your initial doctor exams following accidents are crucial, since if he says it will take a year or more to heal, other doctors a year later will be looking to his initial report of symptoms which he reports or fails to as where to go from there. My doctor severely messed up, and I didn't know, you assume your doctor knows what he is doing. It also seemed that he realized it at some point and began covering his tracks, which made it even harder. Some say they would NEVER sue a doctor, but if you are left in debilitating pain, when you could have spent your life normal, and lost out on years of your life, and perhaps would lose out entirely, and would not be able to earn your normal expected income but be forced to live in poverty with ever continuing medical bills, maybe even not being able to get all the medical treatment you may need and be forced to a lesser life expectancy most likely, what would you do? Hi! :) I just gradutated with my RN degree last year and I've been working for 4 months. I wanted to become an RN because it's a stable career with good pay. RNs also only work 3 days of the week (3 12 hour shifts) which is great! :D You get a lot of down time and free time on your days off. Also there are so many opportunities in the nursing field. You can do ER, ICU, medsurg, pediatrics.. the list goes on and on. AND you don't have to work in a hospital. There are clinics around town (pedicatric clinics, fertility clinics, etc)

this morning a friend and i were getting ready to take our dogs to the park my dog was not on the leash because he was nearly loaded in the car... at which point he got away and ran after my neighbors dog to try to play. I've seen other people talking about this, but typically they have injuries or arthritis, and I have neither of the two. Rather, I'm 16 and I've had chronic back pain for years. I went to an orthopedic surgeon, and she told me to take physical therapy, and I did. Granted, it's only been a week, but the pain's gotten to the point that I have only run once the past week, as opposed to my normal almost daily routine, and I can't stand for more than 10 minutes without it reappearing. I am a smoker and have been smoking for about 9 months now.. Ive always had weak lungs, this is the third time ive got bronchitis, however when I get bronchitis I always get blocked airways, shortness of breath and wheezy breathing. These are all symptoms of chronic bronchitis, not acute... however when i got this in the past i didnt smoke and I still had the symptoms of chronic which is most likely the result of smoking. I recently got the flu which in the matter of 2 days turned into debilitating bronchitis... what i want to know is if this is just normal bronchitis that will go away or because of the smoking ill be stuck with chronic bronchitis for life. How concerned should I be regarding this chest pain?

For the past three days, I have been suffering from a very unusual ailment. About three times a day, I have experienced debilitating, localized chest pain for about ten second intervals, with an occasional relapse of dull (but still highly localized) chest pain. It is below the skin, and its location (speaking from high school Biology experience, which isn't saying much) is around the left ventricle of the heart, or more likely the inner-most part of my left lung. When I say it is localized, I mean it. The point in question couldn't be larger than a dime, and is always the exact same spot. There have been no triggers. I have been both active and inactive, near and away from allergens (for me, a cat), having a full or empty stomach, etc. As I've said, it'd happened about nine times (three times a day for three days), and since it only hurts for about ten seconds, ninety seconds of pain haven't caused me too much trouble. But should I be more concerned? What could this be?

Honestly...you had the best test to see if you had a brain tumor. If the MRI showed nothing, I wouldn't worry. The CT scan the same. Your lungs are clear, why are you worrying? I think your worrying is bringing this on. Why in the world are you seeing a PA rather than a real doctor? PA are not doctors and if this warrants a doctor, then that's who you should see. Personally, I don't think you need to see anyone. Maybe an eye doctor but even that can be caused by stress. You most definitely can get a pinched nerve from heavy coughing. Coughing this time of the year is very indicative of allergies. Allergies this year are the worse. It doesn't matter if you never had the experience at all because allergies can attack at any time during your life. You need to stop worrying and when you do, I believe a lot of these symptoms will go away. Good luck

The learning in therapy is worth the work. It can help you for the rest of your life. There's is hope so don't give up, just don't expect miracle pills for a cure. The cure is worth the time it takes.

Although I wasn't the least bit interested, the girls really liked how I looked. So on we go... I tied getting on the computer with little luck..Haha it was ridiculous, trying to "chat" with people as I was all thumbs...I came across MSN chat and while trying to get in on very fast paced convo. A lady was on tete having the same trouble, she offered to "whisper" to me (privately) so we wouldn't be overwhelmed with the pace the others had set. as I got to know her the problems in her life with her physically and mentally abusive husband drew me towards her, I knew I could help her ! You can most likely switch the cat littler to non pine without any issues. I would probably buy a small bag of the pine but don't open it initially. Get a cat litter that as a similar texture such as yesterdays news with pellets similar in shape to what the kitten is used to now. After you get the kitten, introduce it to the litter box by placing it in the box a few times. If the kitten does some digging around in the litter it will likely readily accept the litter option. If not, put just a little bit of the feline pine on the top to emphasize that it is the new litter box. As far as the food is concerned, it is best to mix the desired new food into the old food and transition the kitten over about 7-10 days to the new food. Since you know you are not interested in feeding the Royal Canin, you might ask the breeder if she could give you a couple of cups of Royal Canin to get you started. You can offer to pay for it but obviously pay less than a whole bag would cost you. When I gave away kittens last year I always provided a few cups of the food the kittens were on to get the folks started and to alow them to use it to transition off of if they wanted to feed a different food.

Why does my chest hurt so much?

Ok, so last night I accidentally slept on my stomach and I usually don't do that. I woke up and my chest hurt when I took a deep breath, it's not a sharp pain, it feels like someone is sitting on my chest and throat. I don't have asthma (I don't think), and I'm scared it might be pneumonia. I'm 12, it actually hurts in my upper chest and into my throat. I don't feel like I have a fever either. Problem with sciatica, cortizone injection did nothing, what kind of doctor should I see?

I seem to be in more and more pain daily. I have been taking norco 10/325 but it barely helps. the pain is completely debilitating. I can't work or do day-to-day activities. It's a SHARP pain on the left side of my lower back radiating down my hip and leg (pain is there all the time!). My effected leg seems to be getting weaker and weaker by the day. I have started to develop a limp when I walk. The pain is accompanied by tingling all the way down to my foot (sometimes). Seems to be getting worse and worse. Since the injection didn't help I was wondering if I had any other treatment options and what kind of specialist I should see. SEVERE seperation anxiety. I'm 22?

I'm 22, I was home-schooled and graduated with almost a perfect GPA by age 17. I have always been a mommas boy, even going to the extent of being very over protective of her. I lived with her up until 8 days ago when I moved cross country for my job. I have been having debilitating anxiety ever sense the day I left. So bad that I am considering quitting my job and moving back to PA. and back in with my mother. Never met my father and my older brother moved to the UK five years ago with his wife. I can take Xanax but I often become too sedated and have blacked out a few times. I have taken them legally for 4 years so it takes alot to calm me down, and more often then not they cause blackouts of memory problems for me. I have absolutely no problem at all quitting my job. I can easily get another back in PA. My question is, I have been like this for as long as I can remember and counseling never helped. Is it likely ill be like this my entire life?

Special education debilitates children from excelling. what do you think?

As a child I was forced into the special education system because I was bored with the indoctrinated curriculum. I was an enigma to my teachers and their textbook knowledge. I would ask questions with uninvited answers to what the government conceived as normal learning material. I always thought school was a waste of time and energy. As a child I was way beyond my years with inherited wisdom. I saw the world for what it was a distraction of time, even time is a man made theory. I would question why we spent so much "time" learning about other peoples history and why it was such a deciding factor to my future wellbeing. As they indoctrinate this material into our heads we learn the "normalcy's" of tomorrow, hence why history repeats itself. Forced into puppets the puppeteers trench forward into telling us that we have to learn this stuff to become "normal" and grow up to spend thousands of barrowed dollars for paper validation. Once my teachers caught wind of my un-conformist mind they sent me where I would become humbled before the whole school, special ed. I was mortified at the idea of going, seeing as how it was right in the middle of the whole school. I become humbled to my own inquisitive mind and began to hide behind the walls that had been licked by fellow classmates. Even though I only had to go there for one class I knew I had become ostracized from my friends. I was told that I could not be in the same study hall as my friends but had to go in shame to my "one" on one time. I loathed my teacher. I used to stare her down with my vengeful eyes. She would always ask me if I needed help with my homework or other "needs". In my mind I was searching for the reason to this condescending scenario that I had gotten myself into. After they forced me into this program my grades started to slip as did my yearning to go to school. This was not teaching me anything other than kids are horrible. I was teased and harassed., broken down by my peers my ego shattered onto the floor for others to stomp on. My friends became my enemies. The people I once shared a bond with knighted me a retard. I would run home to cry all alone in my bedroom. My home life was depressing enough with an absent mother and an abusive father. I had no one. Because of my current placement my whole world had become darkened with an abyss of endless tears. No light was to be found in my million mile tunnel. Long story short I begged to be homeschooled, and won the battle. I was self taught and graduated 3 years before my classmates. I met friends from out of town when I attended college. So my question to you is do you think that they should just get rid of this awful system so that children can excel with their confidence and not feel ostracized from their "community"? Should we continue to let children be ridiculed by classmates into thinking they are nothing of importance? What are you thoughts? Do you have a child in special ed? I noticed this about a week ago. And it has progressively became much worse. I'm 19 and female. The type of pain is hard to describe. It is very uncomfortable and almost debilitating. Why do i feel nauseous and dizzy after focusing on light in dark room?

This is the body i have been given so I am going to use it and love it because no one else will until i do. about 6 hours ago I was experiencing debilitating female cramps while in an important meeting. I was unable to get up and leave the room, so my co-worker slipped me a couple of her 800mg muscle relaxers. I took one and after about 20 minutes was still in serious pain, so I took half of another one. This was around 1pm. I would say it took until around 2 or 3 pm for the pain to completely subside, although she said they usually only take about 20 min. to work. Either way, I felt better, and after the meeting did some errands and had a bite to eat at home. Around 4pm I was doing some work on my laptop and suddenly became exhausted. I could not keep my eyes open anymore and laid down on the couch for a bit. Now it is 7pm. At 6:15 it was a real struggle to wake up, and I still feel extremely groggy and a bit nauseous. It just seems like a very long time frame for the drugs to take hold in. Is this normal with muscle relaxers or could I be coming down with something? I wouldn't think they would still be effecting me this hard.

Question about a neurological problem?

I've always had a lot of problems with cognition and physical abilities, ever since I was maybe 2-3 years old. It's ironic, because when I was a baby as young as 3 months I exhibited understanding of human speech, and by 6 months I was talking and learning rapidly. By kindergarten, however, my teachers noticed that I would not respond when my name was called, though I excelled in all assignments so that I had to be given third grade work to relieve my boredom. Social detachment wasn't my only issue, as I also had frequent episodes of spacing out and being unable to comprehend the simplest of instructions. I also often felt physically ill, moved awkwardly, and had poor motor skills. All of these problems continue to this day (I am now 15), and they are joined by an array of others. I've looked up different mental disorders and found that I have twenty or so symptoms of schizophrenia, but the problem there is that schizo is usually developed in the late teens or early adulthood, certainly not in the toddler years. I have, however, had the hallucinations (mainly auditory but sometimes visual) often associated with schizophrenia. I would hear voices and music and see balls of flame daily, starting when I was 3 years old, but these disappeared altogether when I was about 5. I'd also get a sort of floating sensation sometimes, like my mind was not in sync with my body. I often get aches in my hands and feet, which turn blue when it is cold and scarlet when it's hot, and I still have terrible motor skills. I get terrible headaches and feel paranoid when I'm alone. Sometimes I talk to myself or have "practice conversations" with people I know who aren't present at the moment, but what's disturbing is that sometimes I don't realize I'm doing this until I'm a few minutes into it and see that I'm alone. I have really bad insomnia. Despite all this, I'm #2 in a class of 700 freshmen... but really, there must be something wrong with me. I've been to doctors, but I find it difficult to express these issues in spoken word and have gotten no real help from a medical perspective. The only possible cause I can think of is that I had sleep apnea when I was younger and also sometimes stopped breathing when I was awake; perhaps this could have reduced oxygen to my brain, thus debilitating it in some way? Please help. All these things worry me, especially because it often seems that certain symptoms are worsening. :(

That leaves 30% who have difficulties. Youre most likely not fertile. Yet.

I have already been cleared by a doctor who says I am a good candidate for no cut Lasik but I'm still having major reservations. For one, I've had glasses and contacts for pretty much my whole life, ever since the second grade. My vision is very poor without my contacts in but that has never bothered me at all. It's just natural to me, a part of who I am. As silly as it sounds I worry about not liking being able to see clearly all the time. Secondly, issues that you hear about, like hazing and eye dryness would be irrevocable if it happened. I would be so annoyed if I paid all that money just to have a debilitating condition that would be worse than my nearsightedness for the rest of my life. Like my family keeps reminding me every time I bring it up, "You only get one pair." Thirdly, for me this is purely a cost issue. In three or four years it costs more to have glasses and contacts than it does to just go and get it done. But is that really a good reason to put your eyes at risk? Please leave the "contacts are risky" comments be because I take very good care of mine so they aren't. And it would be really helpful if someone who has already done it would give me their opinion. Why do I keep ignoring people?

I'm probably the most quietest person anyone will ever meet, but it makes me really sick that I can never start to talk to anyone. It's fine when they acknowledge/approach me first because at least I know that they want to talk to me, however whenever I see the person again I just get really nervous and ignore them... It just makes me sick because I've been shy ever since I was a little kid and have been dealing with similar situations to this for years now. Labor pains..........?

I miscarried my first pregnancy in 2009. When I miscarried I had quite painful contractions while my body was expelling all of the pregnancy tissue. I'm now due to have a baby any day now and I'm wondering if labor pains will feel the same as the pains I felt when miscarrying? Also, I've lost my mucous plug and been cramping since, but since last night I've been having cramps doubled with pains that feel like I need to go to the bathroom but no matter what I do I can't go to the bathroom, the one time I did it was hardly anything and I still feel the need to go. Sometimes it's more painful than others, but it's not completely debilitating. Also, my back is very sore. The soreness spans across my whole lower back and I haven't felt it like this until this morning. And my hips have been hurting which the doctor said at my last appointment means they're separating in preparation for child birth. Does this sound like it could be early labor?

This might seem a bit melodramatic..Im seventeen, and lately Im a lot more depressed than I am happy. Every time I get this way, its like I have some kind of debilitating disease. I cant talk, I cant sleep, I cant eat, I cant concentrate on anything. I have not been diagnosed with depression, but I will not go to my parents about seeing a doctor who could. Even if I could go to my parents, I wouldnt want to. People will think Im crazy. My parents will think Im crazy. I live in a small town where they are not accepting of this kind of thing. I have struggled with debilitating depression for about four years now. I always ponder what my purpose is in life, who I'm going to become, etc. I want to have somebody special in my life who will love me unconditionally. But I can't find it in myself to be truly independent. I cry a lot. It seems every time I find someone in my life I feel I really like, I become obsessed. They don't usually know how attached I am, but I get so stuck. Especially being with a guy who is busy and has a job, friends, school, and a life outside of me. I don't know how to be independent. I have no life. I moved to a new town in the middle of nowhere and I have no friends. I go to a community college where virtually everyone is antisocial. I am shy as it is. I need constant affirmation of who I am from others, countless opinions, and still the input and positivity others give me is never enough. I hate my body and I am working to change that but I can't see the will in myself to change how I feel about me... I want to love myself, be independent, be able to be without my boyfriend, etc. I want my own life. I have social anxiety and I am afraid to be me simply because all I get is "You're weird." I am sick of it. What can I do?

How to deal with my phone phobia?

I have social anxiety... It's not completely debilitating but makes life extremely difficult for me. I'm fairly comfortable phoning up close friends and relatives but outside of that my anxiety levels go through the roof... Why is hypomania so bad?

Hi. I am 23 years old and was recently diagnosed with Bipolar II Disorder.My psychiatrist wants to put me on medication namely a mood stabiliser but to be honest i don't feel i need it. I enjoy my hypomanic periods especially compared to the debilitating depressions. I feel ontop of the world and so great and happy and energised.I am extremely productive and creative in this state and i can take on multiple projects at once.My mind floods will all sorts of brilliant ideas. I feel like i am some sort of genius.I have painted many great artworks whilst in hypomania.I just don't see it as a bad thing.Why then does the Dr want me to take medication for it?Why is hypomania so bad?Thanks

This may sound weird, but I want some opinions?

Last night going into this morning, I happened to notice some slight pain/ discomfort on the left side of the base of my penis. I didn't hit it or anything. I do remember falling asleep with many things in my pocket, not to mention sleeping in a not-so-ideal position. I'm just wondering if someone of infection caused this to happen or was it a result of irregular sleeping. Btw, I can still go on throughout my day; the pain isn't debilitating. Please help! Am I imagining a ringing sound or is it really tinnitus?

This question probably sounds really dumb but I'm really worried. I hear a very faint high pitched sound in my ear at night in my bedroom and can't decide if I'm imagining it or not. I've never been to a rock concert and never have music up loud, but I have a history of hypochonriasis and anxiety, often googling symptoms and thinking I've got certain diseases and conditions. I've researched tinnitus and it looks like a horrible lifelong condition, I'm so worried if got this. Sometimes the sound seems to go away and I only hear it at night. When I went into the bathroom I didn't think I could still hear it. I'm driving myself crazy and getting quite upset, am I imagining the sound? A few months ago I thought I was wheezing at night and went to the doctors thinking I'd got asthma but had full tests and all but I didn't have it. I know it sounds stupid but I have an anxiety problem and it's debilitating. Wish I could just relax. Any responses woulld be great thanks, thanks for your time.

Pulmonary Embolism question?

I had bi-lateral pulmonary embolisms 5 months ago post-op and was hospitalized for a few days. My symptoms were 9/10 pain, could not move due to pain, shortness of breath, low sats, tachycardia, etc... The Doc said the pain should go away within 4-6 weeks. Since then, I have had the usual "zingers" of extreme pain which only last for a few seconds, and an ache of about 2-3/10 pain which comes and goes almost on a daily basis. But I have also occasionally been having signs of new PE's as well. This has happened about 3-4 times over the last 5 months, each time getting worse. Yesterday I had the *exact* same symptoms as my original PE with 9/10 pain, dyspnea, shortness of breath, etc... and But here is the kicker. These "attacks" are temporary and yesterdays episode only lasted about 10 minutes or so and left as quickly as it came. These are debilitating and cannot move or breath while I have them. I have to sit in a semi-tripod position and take very short, shallow breaths to keep the pain down. I have been treated for pleurisy (which I don't meet the criteria for but willing to try anything) and cannot distinguish the symptoms between my original PE and these episodes. However, I know that symptoms of a PE don't just "go away" like mine have been. I really feels like I have a sudden blockage of my vessel which breaks loose and allows blood flow again. Perhaps scar tissue or left over PE, I have no idea but am a Paramedic/Firefighter and return to work this week and CANNOT have this problem while on duty. My Doc doesn't know what is going on (she has referred me to yoga and acupuncture. I am looking for a new Doc right now) and need to get this problem fixed. I have searched the internet tirelessly and haven't found anything remotely comparable to my symptoms. Any thoughts?
